Booking and Cancellation Policy:
Go Fish requests a 50% deposit at the time of booking to reserve your date(s). Other deposits and/or credit card information may be required for vacation packages including accommodations.
Cancellation Policy: Reservations for fishing, snorkeling, and sunset cruises cancelled more than 14 days in advance will receive a 100% refund of deposit. Reservations cancelled less than 14 days up to 24 hours in advance will receive a 50% refund of deposit. Reservations cancelled less than 24 hours of booked date, including no shows, are not subject to refunds. Additional restrictions may apply to cancellations for accommodations. In the event that a charter is cancelled by Go Fish, all monies will be returned regardless of time frame. Charters cancelled or that return early based on the clients request will not be refunded. If you anticipate any problems or have any concerns after booking please contact us as soon as possible so we can help ensure your reservations and investment is safe.

Without a military and a government system that very closely mimics that of the United States the country has not seen any sort of coup, political or otherwise, in more than 50 years unlike so many other Central American destinations. Current Weather Conditions
Fishing Calendar
The beauty of fishing in Tamarindo is our true, 12 month fishing season. The reason we have located ourselves here and so many serious anglers travel to fish with us is our proximity to the fish. Located within 15 miles of the continental shelf, we are always within an hour of deep water and in turn we find ourselves spending more time fishing rather than looking for fish like our neighbors further south.
Tamarindo features an incredible menu of sport fish species including: Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado, Wahoo, Tuna and a variety of bottom fish all within a short run from the bay. Now we do not have a fancy marina however the trade off for you the angler is obvious, more time fishing and in turn a greater opportunity of landing the fish you came to find.
We do have distinct seasons as far as weather is concerned that open opportunities to target particular species. April through September brings us calm seas; light winds and blue water close in to Tamarindo. During these months we find great numbers of Marlin, Sailfish, migrating Tuna, and big Mahi Mahi. October through December is our green season which brings in potentially heavy rains and washes valuable sediment and debris in to the coastal waters fostering a fertile fishing ground for Mahi Mahi, Black and Blue Marlin, Wahoo and Sailfish. If you would like to fish during this time of year plan an extra day or two in case of rain outs. December through March is our big billfish season. The winds come in and we find ourselves running south, usually 30 45 minutes to find shelter from the wind. Marlin, Sailfish and Big Tuna are here in big numbers. If youre after that trophy billfish, this is your time of year.
Getting To and Around Costa Rica
Getting to Costa Rica has never been easier. Many major airlines including Delta, Continental, United, American, Jet Blue, Spirit, Taca and others have regular flights in to San Jose (SJO), the capital city. Delta, Continental and American Airlines, US Airways, Unites and Northwest all fly directly in to Liberia International Airport (LIR) just 45 minutes from Tamarindo. For those flying in to San Jose there are several options for getting to Guanacaste and Tamarindo. There are several ground shuttles including Interbus and other private and public transportation services. Costa Rica has 2 regional airlines, Nature air and Sansa, that fly from the San Jose Airport in to Tamarindo with a regular schedule.
Those flying in to Liberia have several options for getting to Tamarindo. The first choice for most of our visitors is the Tamarindo Shuttle which picks you up right at the airport and drops you off at your final destination. The cost for the Tamarindo Shuttle is approx $20 per person.
Car Rental is also an option at both airports in the country. Major rental agencies include: Budget, Advantage, Dollar, Hertz, and other US based companies. Be certain to book well in advance and we always recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle especially during the rainy season. Driving in Costa Rica can at times be exciting. Our recommendation is to take it slow and easy. Also keep in mind there is a mandatory insurance policy you have to buy. Be sure to ask about this with the agency when you reserve your car to eliminate the surprise cost.

Welcome to Tamarindo
Tamarindo is the most popular tourist destination on the Guanacaste Peninsula of Costa Rica. A quaint, funky little beach town with an endless supply of activities from the extreme to the subdued is how we often describe our home. Tamarindo and surrounding beaches offer vacationers thousands of lodging options from 5 star all inclusive resorts to $10 per night hostels and every possible combination in between.
Tamarindo is not only known for world class sport fishing but also for its beaches that scream tranquility and timelessness. Surfing has long been popular on the shore and inland activities include horseback riding, canopy and zip line tours, ATV tours, championship golf, hiking, and an endless plethora of other activities for the enthusiast and perfect for the whole family.With a dozen spas and salons close by those seeking pampering are certainly covered. Shops featuring products from Costa Rica and around the world line the streets and are full of treasures. Tamarindo boasts a healthy nightlife with a number of bars, discos, casinos and incredible restaurants.
Though Tamarindo has seen a recent growth spurt over the past 5 years it has managed to hold on to its far-side-of-the-world appeal. We have one paved road coming in to the city and million dollar mansions just off dirt roads. We have heard Tamarindo referred to as summer camp for adults with beer, as it still feels a little bit like the Wild West might have. You wont need your Pradas here as bathing suits and t shirts are common place.
The American Dollar is widely accepted here as well as major credit cards at most every business establishment. Here in Tamarindo and across the country ATMs are plentiful and in most banks you can find at least 1 person who can speak at least a little English.
The Costa Rican people are grateful for the tourism the country brings in and are very generous and helpful. Here in Tamarindo, most of the shops and restaurants have bilingual employees to help you get what it is youre looking for. There are however exceptions to every rule. Crime is subtle here in Tamarindo and in Costa Rica. Violent crime against tourists is truly unheard of. Petty theft on the other hand is more common than we would like it to be. Keep your personal belongings close by and dont carry large amounts of cash. Most hotel rooms have safes for your belongings while you are out and about. Please also keep in mind not to leave ANYTHING in your rental car in and around Tamarindo and all of Costa Rica for that matter.

Just wanted to express my sincere thanks for the excellent experience you 2 and Hever provided my son and me. I have been deep sea fishing many times and have had plenty of trips that span the spectrum of good to bad. It was important to me that my son's first trip be a positive experience. Despite being initially seasick and having the misery that goes with that, Joshua had a great time and says he would like to come again. He says he really enjoyed catching his dorado and tuna and especially enjoyed watching his dad suffer through a 1 hour fight with the 350 lb marlin followed by the 35 minute fight with the 250 ld marlin we hooked 15 minutes after the 1st one!
